abstract = "The study is characterized as the analysis of the spectral
behavior of the plant species Algaroba and Caatingueira in the
northeastern semiarid present in the region of
Cura{\c{c}}{\'a}-BA. Algaroba is an invasive plant species
originated in Peru that was introduced in the northeastern
semiarid region with the objective of solving socioeconomic
problems in the hinterland. Caatingueira is a small tree, endemic
to the Caatinga biome of the leguminous family, covering the
Caatinga from Piau{\'{\i}} to Bahia. In this sense, the
objective of this work is to compare the spectral behavior of the
invasive plant species Algaroba with the endemic Caatingueira
species. Therefore, a bibliographical research was carried out on
the main thematic categories, a field work was carried out in the
study area with analysis of the spectral behavior of the two
species. With the analysis of the graphs of the two species an
NDVI and NDWI was generated for comparison purposes, it was found
that both species have spectral peculiarities revealing that the
Caatingueira endemic species of the semiarid has some
characteristics more favorable to local conditions compared to the
invasive species Algaroba However, the Algaroba presented a higher
NDVI and NDWI. This study contribute to the identification of both
                         species in satellite images.",
